April 2015 - The Kim Family

A loving family of five living in Kapolei, Hawaii. Kalama holds the job as the Principal Broker for Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties and works out of the Kapolei office. He also sits on numerous boards and committees in the industry and is currently the 2015 President Elect for the Honolulu Board of Realtors. Liane is fortunate to be a stay at home mom and is an Independent Designer for Origami Owl. Liane volunteers her time at the elementary school where she has been on the Ohana Board for the past 5 years. She is also a member of the School Community Council there as well. Their children all attend school in Kapolei. Kayla and Marisa are both at the middle school and their son Cameron is at the elementary school.

We are honored to be Pas De Deux Hawaii's Family of the Month for April. The word family is the perfect word to describe our relationship with Pas De Deux. Our girls Kayla and Marisa spend so much time at the studio that the staff, the other dancers and their parents feel like family. After taking ballet for 4 years at another dance studio, Marisa took her first ballet class from Miss Annri in 2011. She was drawn to Miss Annri's compassionate approach to teaching and immediately decided this is the new studio for her. Shortly thereafter, our oldest daughter Kayla, decided she wanted to switch from playing soccer and take Hip Hop at Pas De Deux. Mr. Erick’s affect on Kayla was immediate. She became passionate about hip hop and her confidence soared. Since that time, both our girls have truly enjoyed their dance experience at Pas De Deux Hawaii and the instructors have truly become mentors for them.

Marisa is currently enrolled in both intermediate ballet and jazz now. Kayla has taken a break from hiphop and is focusing now on her intermediate ballet and pointe classes. That's the beauty of this studio, they encourage you to try out different genres and offer free trial weeks. If you are a family thinking about joining the studio have your child sign up for a free trial class!

We would like to thank Wendy and Jeremy Gilbert, the directors, teachers and administrative staff of the studio who work so hard everyday upholding the standards and keeping hope and dreams alive in this inspiring dance world our girls consider as their home.
