September 2015 - The Sarandi Family

Mahalo Pas De Deux from the Sarandi Family - Amber, Bermar, Sydney and Brandon. What an honor to be selected as your Family of the Month! Sydney (7th grade) and Brandon (3rd grade) both attend Assets School. Amber is a self-employed CPA and Bermar is a Mechanic for Ryder in Kapolei. Coincidentally Amber and Bermar are celebrating their 15-year wedding anniversary this month!

We have been with PDD since June 2010. We found the studio after Sydney expressed an interest in ballet. We live in Royal Kunia and we were so happy to find some place close to home. From the first day of ballet, Sydney just loved it! She later added jazz and has not stopped dancing since! Brandon just started last month and is enjoying hip hop! Both of our children have learning differences and attention issues and dance is a great outlet for them. It lets them express themselves and builds up their self-esteem. We are very appreciative of the time and effort that Wendy, Jeremy, the teachers, and the staff put into making the studio an accepting environment for everyone. We have met so many great friends through the studio.

When Sydney started dance, it was all "Greek" to us. However, there was always someone to help us along the way to learn the "language". My advice to new families is don't be afraid to engage others in conversation and get advice; and please give your time to help. Show times are hectic and chaotic. If we all pinch in a bit, remain calm and just go with it, our children blossom and shine! Lastly, embrace your child's uniqueness when they dance and the joy and excitement they feel! Let your children find their own path in dance.
