March 2016 - The Killion Family

Hello PDD families! We are the Killions and are so honored to be your Family of the Month! Jim, Lianne and oldest son, Tyler, all work at Oceanic Time Warner Cable. Kassie is a junior at Mililani High School and youngest son, AJ, is a 7th grader at Mililani Middle School. We also have three Golden Retriever fur babies – Rocko, Sasha and Tucker.
Dance has been part of our lives since Kassie was five, starting at the W Performing Arts Studio with Wendy’s mom, Teresa Osthoff, to the Y Performing Arts Center where we first met Mr. Erick and Miss Shauna, and finally to Pas De Deux Hawaii. PDD is like a second home to us, not because of the time Kassie spends there, but because everyone there is like family. We can walk in at any time and start up a conversation with a dance mom, a dance dad, an admin, a grandma, a teacher or another student. We have made many acquaintances over the years and some of them have become our dearest friends.

When Kassie was very young, we never had to expose her to a plethora of activities to find the one thing she loved. It was always dance. And we have been very fortunate to be part of this family from the beginning. Wendy, Jeremy, Miss Annri, Mr. Erick, Miss Shauna, Miss Allicia and all the teachers both past and present instill good values in the students and teach them to be respectful, caring and responsible members of the community. Being exposed to this type of positive environment has helped to shape Kassie into the person she is today.

And to those families whose dance journey with their child is just beginning, there is no greater reward than being a part of each concert, each competition, each performance because it gives insight into the dance world and helps you understand that the staff of PDD only has your child’s best interest at heart.

With all our love, we send a huge thank you to Wendy, Jeremy and all of PDD for everything you do!
