June 2017 - The Justice Family

Aloha! What a wonderful surprise to be chosen as the PDD Family of the Month for June 2017! Thank you so much! We are the Justice Family: Johnny, Mary, Diana (11) and Gemma (4). Johnny works for the US Army and teaches for American Military University, Mary is currently homeschooling Diana as Diana works on curriculum at home but attends Myron B. Thompson Academy in Honolulu for scheduled core and elective classes. Gemma is an inquisitive 4-year-old, eagerly awaiting turning 5 in August.

Diana has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She danced at Art's N Motion in Odenton, Maryland and joined their Apprentice Dance Company at the age of 7. At the end of 2014 we moved to Hawaii and quickly discovered Pas De Deux. Diana immediately enrolled in ballet and jazz after touring the studio and taking a class. She also signed up for musical theatre and had fun experiences in Legally Blonde Jr., Once Upon a Christmas, and The Little Mermaid Jr. productions. Last year, Diana was also a vocal student and sang in the PDD One Love Vocal Concert. This year, Diana is focusing more on dance and is excited to be a member of PDD's Prep Dance Company. She currently takes intermediate ballet, jazz, hip hop, and pre-pointe. Occasionally she can be seen on Sundays at acro training/tumbling and the open leaps & turns, and master jazz classes. Gemma began dancing at PDD in creative movement classes when she was 3 and now enjoys taking hip hop and hula.

My advice would be to dive in and take part in all the opportunities that Pas De Deux offers. From volunteering behind the scenes, to taking special workshops/fitness classes, as well as attending shows and special events, etc. The four of us have an absolute blast with our PDD family and we appreciate you all. Everyone is very friendly and genuine. There really is a supportive and encouraging atmosphere at PDD, we're all so lucky to be in such good company. The staff, teachers, and mentors really provide quality instruction, and care to their students. It's a beautiful place to be, united in the love of dance and the arts. A big thank you to everyone at PDD for being the great role models that you are! Wendy and Jeremy, thank you for having a dream and bringing it to life. Thank you for your dedication to our children and providing them with so many opportunities to excel and grow. We are forever grateful!
