April 2018 - The Tomita Family

Aloha!  We are the Tomita Family!  Blaine, Sherri, Dylen, Bryson & Shayden!  We are so blessed to have been chosen as PDD’s family of the month.  Blaine is a probation officer with Family Court, and head coach for Laulima Soccer Club.  Sherri is a homeschooling mommy of all 3 boys in 10th, 8th & 5th grade respectively, substitute teacher at Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor and currently the state representative for NCFCA speech and debate organization.

The beginning of our PDD journey started in September, 2015 when Bryson observed a hip hop class with Mr. Erick.  We say observed because he didn’t dance, only watched.  He was so nervous.  Mr. Erick told him something he would never forget.  He said “you just gotto do it”.  That was the beginning of our journey. He signed up for his first hip hop class.  A year later, he auditioned and was accepted into the Jr. Hip Hop Company.  This was the beginning of our “family journey”.

2017 was a whirlwind of fun and growth for our entire family.  Bryson continued to push himself.  Along with cross training in competitive soccer, he joined break dancing and jazz.  This year, he’s moved up to the Sr. Hip Hop company, taking the boys ballet class and tap class.  Dylen is involved with the musical theatre family and will be a part of his first PDD theatre production “the Lion King Jr.”  Shayden joined hip hop, continues to play competitive soccer as well (under Blaine’s coaching) and is now on the Jr. Hip Hop Company team.    If we are not at the dance studio, we are busy making memories on the soccer field, at home and church.
Bryson was blessed with a scholarship to Liberate Artists Phoenix Fire in New York.  We will be travelling there in August where both he and Shayden will be training for a week.
We are beyond excited for 2018 and all that God has in store!  We love our PDD family and have been so blessed by the many many friends who have become our family!  Wendy and Jeremy…there are no words to express how much we appreciate the opportunity you have given us!  Jeremiah, Nikki, Zane, Erick, Allicia and all the instructors who continually pour out…we are so thankful!

To all the new families of PDD!  You are surrounded by a wealth of love, grace, and knowledge!  Continue to take advantage of every opportunity given!  Come around, volunteer…share with us a little bit of you!!  We love new friends!!
