July 2018 - The Lueder Family

The Lueder (pronounced Leader) ‘Ohana is very blessed to be named PDD's Family of the Month for July 2018! Our family unit resides in ‘Ewa Beach and consists of Randy Lueder, Deputy Director of Ko Olina Operations; Billie Lueder, Director of Institutional Advancement for Hawaii Baptist Academy (HBA); Randie (10) an incoming 6th grader at HBA; and Reese (8) an incoming 3rd grader at HBA.

At the young age of 2 years and 10 months, Randie started creative movement with PDD at the old Waipahu studio. Since then Randie has been involved with ballet and jazz. Reese followed in her sister's footsteps at the age of three taking creative movement and has since progressed in ballet and jazz. Randie and Reese have fallen in love with musical theater over the years and have been in numerous PDD productions, including the most recent production of The Lion King Jr. Randie had the opportunity to participate in Destination Broadway, a musical theater camp, in New York City during the summer of 2016. This year both Lueder sisters are members of the Mini Jazz Company team and have performed at Spotlight and Jump with their dance sisters.

Besides dance, both girls have danced hula for over 5 years and study voice. In their spare time they can be seen performing, modeling, and volunteering around town with organizations like The Salvation Army and Echelon Hawaii.

Our family is grateful to Wendy and Jeremy for providing excellence in the performing arts on the West side of the island. All of their teachers are extremely talented, caring and have helped to cultivate our daughters passion for performing.

Pearls of wisdom to new parents…get involved! There are so many opportunities to volunteer. It's an easy way to support your children, meet other families, and understand all the behind the scene activity that goes into a production or dance concert. You'll have a much deeper appreciation for the amount of coordination and energy it takes to put on a spectacular show! The best part is PDD has become our extended family – the friendships that have been formed are ones that will last a lifetime! Mahalo Pas De Deux Hawaii!
