November 2018 - The Aoki Family

Aloha, we are the Aoki Family - Chad, Candice, Courtney (12) and Caurie (8). We are  honored and excited to be PDD's November 2018 Family of the Month! Our family resides in Mililani with Chad a Home Repair/Maintenance Technician, Candice a Real Estate Agent & Property Manager, Courtney  a 7th grader at Mililani Middle, and Caurie a 3rd grader at Mililani Uka.

Our dance journey began almost 10 years ago when Courtney fell in love with "Nina" on the Imagination Movers. Once we heard "Nina" was here and opening up a dance studio we knew we had to take Courtney to meet her. She absolutely LOVED it from the start. We attended the Grand Opening of Pas De Deux Hawaii in Waipahu and enrolled Courtney right away, she was 4 years old at the time. Since then she has had the opportunity to continue to grow in her love of dance, taking creative movement,  ballet,  jazz,  and later adding Hip Hope to her schedule, while moving her way up over the years. She now has the honor of being a part of PDD's Company Team for the 2nd year and is excited for whats to come! Caurie has been with PDD for her entire life, in one way or another, as she was born just shortly after her sister began dancing. She's been a part of PDD before she could walk. And at 3yrs old she followed in her sisters footsteps and began dancing at PDD; she has since taken creative movement, ballet, jazz, and Hip Hop.

Outside of dance you can find our family at Caurie's soccer games, playing at the pool, watching football with friends/family, and hanging out at the beach (surfing and paddle boarding).

Our family is grateful to Wendy and Jeremy for all of their hard work and dedication in building such an amazing place that we call our "second home". Pas De Deux Hawaii, and its amazing teachers have been a large part of our lives over the years and we have shared many memories together. The teachers are patient, loving, supportive, encouraging, and deeply care about all children. They are a constant inspiration and we are thankful for them!

Our advice to new families joining PDD is to get involved! There are many opportunities to help. Volunteering is a wonderful way for you to support your children, get to know other families and build relationships. Helping with things that go on behind the scenes during events/recitals also allows you to see things from another perspective and see whats involved in putting on a fabulous performance. Don't hesitate to sign up at the next opportunity, we all work together as a Team and have a great time together!

Thank you again to Wendy, Jeremy & everyone at PDD. Be blessed!

Aloha,
The Aoki Ohana
