October 2019 - The Paz Family

Aloha Everyone!

We are the Paz Family – Ed (Dad), Cora (Mom) and Lily (Daughter).   It is with great pleasure and an honor to be chosen as PDD’s Family of the Month.

Dad is employed with Bank of Hawaii as a Vice President & Platform Manager.  Mom is a Kindergarten teacher at Waialua El. School and has been teaching there for over 20 years.  Lily is a 7th Grader at Waialua High & Intermediate School.  She enjoys band, dancing, reading, playing volleyball, and stand-up paddle boarding.  As a family, we always try to enjoy the great outdoors, traveling and spending time together.

We joined the PDD Family in 2010 with Lily enrolled in Creative Movement beginning at the age of 3.  As her interest and passion for dance grew, her transition into Ballet became very evident, and eventually venturing into Jazz as well.  Some of her highlights include being in Jazz Company (2018) and traveling to Disneyland to participate in the Holiday Spectacular Parade.  Lily’s main focus for dance is to always continue to have fun, foster life-long friendships and share what she has learned over the years with the younger students thru mentorship.  One of her goal and wish for the near horizon is to be in both Ballet and Jazz Company.

Through dance and having been with PDD over the years, Lily has gained and developed important life skills that she continues to apply and benefit from and use as tools in her academics, and also for her overall confidence.  Lily learned early on the importance of teamwork, positive attitude and good work ethic as standards for achievement.
We would like to thank Wendy and Jeremy Gilbert along with the amazing and super talented teachers/instructors/mentors and staff at PDD for their guidance, support, and the many opportunities that they provide for the students.  We are forever grateful for all of your hard work!

Our advice to new families – enjoy every moment, volunteer when the opportunity arises, and most of all, keep it fun!
